Who We Are

About Us
Welcome to Kind Heart Africa Centre, a compassionate nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children in Tanzania. Established under the guidance of Rev. ILukpitiye Pannasekara Thero in Dar es Salaam, our center is registered with the Ministry of Home Affairs, carrying registration number SO 15751 since February 8, 2008. With a presence in Tanzania since 1998, we have consistently focused on addressing the challenges faced by the impoverished, offering hope and opportunities to those most in need.

At Kind Heart Africa, we believe in the power of education and advocacy to uplift the most excluded and invisible children in our society. Our initiative is a collaborative effort led by two dedicated Buddhist monks, whose ministries are rooted in compassion and service. Rev. Pannasekara Thero has devoted the last 13 years to boys’ education and has been a passionate advocate for the rights of vulnerable children for over a decade. He has actively engaged with the Tanzanian government to highlight the urgent plight of children forced onto the streets due to escalating poverty and the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
Our center is committed to empowering children aged 3 to 25, providing them with the resources and support they need to realize their potential and become self-reliant individuals. Through our programs, we mobilize resources and advocate for children’s rights, creating a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. At Kind Heart Africa, we envision a brighter future for the children of Tanzania, one where they can break free from the cycle of poverty and achieve their dreams.

What makes us different?

Led by Faith, Driven by Service
Inspired by Buddhist values and led by Rev. Pannasekara Thero, our work is rooted in decades of service. We collaborate with communities and government to protect children’s rights.
